**Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist**
**Job Description**

**Responsibilities**
+ Operate machinery safely and follow all established Safety Policies and Procedures.
+ Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts.
+ Set up and operate CNC machines, performing diversified and complex operations on one or more machines simultaneously.
+ Write and edit programs to meet overall part tolerance requirements.
+ Provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced machinists.
+ Proficiently run multiple machines simultaneously and handle changeovers without assistance.
+ Write basic programs, post-edit CNC programs, and troubleshoot programs.
+ Set up jobs, run jobs, inspect parts, and perform all external setup tasks for the next job while the machine is running.
+ Use basic math and problem-solving abilities.
+ Read prints to recognize specifications for various surfaces being machined.
+ Select tools, spindle speeds, tool feed rates, and chucking/holding requirements in accordance with materials.
+ Inspect workpieces at the beginning and throughout the production run to ensure part meets tolerance requirements.
+ Replace cutting tools as necessary and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
+ Advise the supervisor of conduct that may violate rules, policies, and procedures.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3-5 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC lathe machines.
+ Ability to use precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and indicators.
+ Experience performing full setups and editing programs using G and M codes.
+ Ability to read blueprints and setup sheets.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in the machining industry supplying to the automotive or aerospace sector.
+ Ability to read MasterCam prints.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is climate-controlled, organized, and clean throughout the facility. The position is for the 1st shift (5am-3:30pm) Monday to Thursday, with overtime available on Friday and Saturday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Wheeling, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
