Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, effective communication, and continuous learning to achieve common objectives.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate CNC machines to machine flat and formed parts to inch and metric drawing specifications.Act as a technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities.Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes.Communicate issues related to work orders, programming errors, material shortages, or errors.Focus on reducing material, labor, and scrap continuously.Perform minor maintenance activities as required by the preventive maintenance program.Engage in continued education and training, including ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, and teamwork.Maintain cleanliness of the work area.Record labor for job tracking.Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.Lead large projects from start to finish.Interact with engineering on part designs.Provide advice on corrective actions that need to be taken.Document red lines.Monitor line side inventory.Perform other duties as requested.Essential SkillsExperience with CNC machine setup and operation.Proficiency in troubleshooting, change over, and machine operation.Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.Strong judgment and decision-making skills.Effective two-way communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsCommitment to continuous personal learning and development.Ability to work well within a team and engage in cross-departmental collaboration.Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.Why Work Here?

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $34.00/hr.
