We have an outstanding Contract to Hire position for aCNC Lathe Operatorto join a leading Company located in theFenton, MOsurrounding area. Responsibilities : + Setup, layout, and operate various CNC lathes and/or mills. + Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, cutting speeds, and depth of cut and determines the sequence of operations. + Selects, positions, and secures tools in the tool holder. + Positions and secures workpieces in holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures. + Moves controls to position tools and workpieces in relation to each other and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut. + Sets up the fixture and starts the machine. + Requires ability to read precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. + Observes the operation of the machine and verifies the conformity of machined workpieces to specifications. + Keeps work area clean and orderly + Follows all Company rules and safety policies. + Discusses errors in diagrams or production orders with the supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems. + Core Competency Requirements: + Performs any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools. + Adjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerances. + Follows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correct. + May perform testing of the assembled product. + Make up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, and seal the finishing product. + Meet efficiency rates. + Perform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are met. + Work within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPE (steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses). + Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor or team leader. + Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5S. + Must be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cells. + Performs related duties as assigned by supervision. Basic Hiring Criteria : + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Minimum 1 year of previous CNC experience preferred.
