**Job Title: Setup Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced Setup Machinist to join our Lathe department. The role involves performing 15-20 setups per week, writing programs at the machine with G&M Codes and Mazatrol, and ensuring the accurate machining of complex parts.
**Responsibilities**
+ Receive blueprints from the engineering team and perform full machine setups, including writing programs at the machine with G&M Codes and Mazatrol.
+ Review setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions of finished workpieces.
+ Attach fixtures to machine beds and position and secure workpieces in fixtures according to setup instructions.
+ Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position tool holders in machine spindles as specified.
+ Manipulate controls and enter commands to index cutting tools to specified set points and start the machine.
+ Observe and listen to machine operations to detect malfunctions, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.
+ Change cutting tools and the location of workpieces during machining processes as specified in setup instructions.
+ Measure workpieces for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges.
+ Adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or the machine malfunctions.
**Essential Skills**
+ 5-10 years of CNC Setup experience.
+ Strong understanding of CNC Programming (G-Code/Mazatrol at the machine, manual input).
+ Ability to complete full setup, operation, and changeovers.
+ Strong blueprint experience.
+ Experience with live tooling.
+ Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, depth mics, blade mics, and comparators (manual and digital).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Citizen Miyano BNA-42GTY Swiss Style Machines.
+ CAD/CAM experience.
+ Familiarity with Fanuc Controls.

**Work Environment**
You will be working on brand new machinery, including 6 Citizen Miyano BNA-42GTY Swiss Style Machines. This role involves a mix of job shop and production machining, with runs ranging from 20-70 pieces, and some orders exceeding 300 pieces. The parts are very complex and require close tolerances. The work hours are 7:00am-3:30pm, with overtime available and encouraged, including 5 hours on Saturdays and double time on Sundays. The attire includes steel toe boots, safety glasses, and a provided team uniform.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00

**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in Eastlake,OH.
