**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
Candidates will be in CNC Operator roles working adjacent to the plating department on machines that cut steel beams. This is at a new location where fabrication, not just distribution, is done. The facility includes saws, laser cutting equipment, and burning tables.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate CNC plasma cutter or other CNC equipment as needed.
+ Read and interpret blueprints for different runs.
+ Set up programs on the CNC and follow manufacturing guidelines and company policies.
+ Perform daily preventative maintenance and operator maintenance on equipment.
+ Move materials via crane and check all cut products.
+ Document all findings and understand measurements well.
+ Operate a forklift if available for moving large metal plates and beams.
+ Clean up, learn the inventory of the facility, tag and locate product, and fill the facility with raw materials.
+ Assist in unloading flatbed trailers and transporting materials into the facility or yard.
+ Work both inside and outside in all weather conditions.
+ Manage the inventory system using computers and manual pick tickets and paperwork.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Proficiency in operating CNC machines, specifically Peddinghaus (PeddiBot-1200).
+ Strong understanding of measurements and mathematics.
+ Experience in fabrication and machine operation (3-5 years).
+ Manufacturing experience (1-2 years).
+ Heavy industry experience (1 year).
+ Proficiency in using measurement tools.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Forklift operation experience.
+ Material handling and banding.
+ Experience with sheet metal fabrication, burn tables, and laser cutting equipment.
+ Familiarity with heavy industry, construction, or farming.
+ Ability to document measurements and use various measuring equipment.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a very nice, brand new, and well-lit facility. The first shift is up and running, and the company is adding people to run the second shift. Training lasts about 60-90 days. The facility will be hot in the summer and very cold in the winter as it is not climate controlled, but it will have fans. This role requires flexibility for second shift and potentially leading that shift. The job involves working both indoors and outdoors, with steel beams stored in the yard and steel plating stored inside. The shift is from 7am-3pm, with flexibility for overtime and occasional Saturdays if needed. Candidates must be able to get on equipment for changeovers and be agile enough to bend, stoop, squat, and maneuver between pieces of equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Petersburg, Virginia.
