As a CNC Post Processor and Digital Twin/Machine Simulation Configuration Specialist at Autodesk, you will help ensure the seamless integration of our Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software with CNC machines. In this role you will improve CNC post-processing code, configure digital machines, collaborate with various teams to enhance our manufacturing capabilities. We would welcome people with a technical, programming background who have an interest in this field but not hands-on experience as we can train you.

This is a full-time hands-on role which will require a minimum of 4 days per week in our Birmingham office. You will report to a Technical Consulting Manager.

CNC Post Processor:

Develop, customise, and maintain CNC post-processor for Autodesk CAM solutionsCollaborate with CAM software developers to ensure compatibility of post-processorsDebug and troubleshoot post-processor code to address issues and improve the functionality of the post

Digital Twin/Machine Simulation Configuration

Configure and maintain digital twin/machine simulation kits for Autodesk CAM digital twin solutionsCollaborate with engineers and programmers to replicate machine behaviour and toolpath simulations

CAM and CNC Expertise

Use your knowledge of CAM software and CNC machines to provide technical guidance to Autodesk's internal and external partnersTrain and assist Autodesk channel partners in using CAM software and understanding post-processor and Machine Simulation processes

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)Programming skills in JavaScript, Python, C++, or similar languagesKnowledge of CNC machine operation, including 3-axis and multi-axis machining or interest in learning these skillsFamiliarity with industry-specific best practices in CNC machiningAccommodate occasional domestic and international travel

Preferred qualifications

Proficiency in digital twin/machine simulation software (e.g., Siemens NX, Vericut, or equivalent)Experience with development of software.Experience with complex CNC machining processes, such as TurnMill and 5-axis machining3 to 6 years of proven experience in CNC post-processing and CAM software configuration, with an understanding of G-code and M-code for multiaxis and TurnMill Machines
