**CNC Machining Manager**
**Job Description**
The purpose of the Machining Manager is to act as the front line for direction, instruction, and training of staff in the Machining department as well as drive continuous improvement across key business objectives. This position will also operate and control machines and processes in the Machining department.
**Responsibilities**
+ Direct the activities of the Machining team.
+ Plan and lay out complex operations in Machining; fabricate and assemble various types and sizes of product parts and assemblies.
+ Work in coordination with all other department Production Managers to manage the daily operations of assigned employees, ensuring overall quality, productivity, and policy/contract adherence.
+ Maintain and promote excellent client relations by identifying and promptly responding to all questions relating to the business.
+ Provide knowledge transfer where inquiry requires a higher level of expertise.
+ Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
+ Assist with the development of new processes.
+ Maintain item and job traveler information.
+ Write and interpret instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
+ Perform inspections of equipment, materials, and products.
+ Learn and apply the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
+ Participate in Management and Production meetings.
+ Participate in ongoing Leadership development training sessions.
+ Conduct 1:1 meetings with Machining employees.
+ Conduct annual performance reviews for Machining employees.
+ Perform, or assist in, the orientation and training of employees.
+ Hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop Machining employees; manage schedules and workflow.
+ Assign duties and monitor the quality of work; ensure employees conform to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
+ Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of employees; actively work to promote and recognize performance.
+ Coordinate activities to establish production requirements and prepare a production plan to meet customer needs.
+ Prepare a weekly production schedule and prioritize production.
+ Forecast material requirements based on customer requirements and communicate as requested by procurement.
+ Analyze customer requirements and plan production to ensure efficient utilization of equipment and personnel.
+ Maintain an inventory of raw materials required for production and inventory.
+ Support and provide feedback to customer service, sales, and leaders as needed.
+ Manage capacity model for Machining production lines.
+ Maintain month-end inventory process for the department and develop and recommend ideas to reduce physical inventories.
+ Maintain department budget and keep the Director, Manufacturing informed.
+ Manage department budget and submit reports to Finance.
+ Maintain an organized and clean work area.
+ Continually look for opportunities to improve the manufacturing process and department.
+ Work with the QC Inspection team to ensure parts are within allowable tolerances and finished parts do not have any flaws.
+ Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
+ Adhere to all company Quality Management System policies and procedures.
**Essential Skills**
+ Extensive experience in machining and CNC operations.
+ Proficient in operations management and lean manufacturing principles.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
+ Experience in machine setup, lathe, tooling, mill, and fabrication.
+ Knowledge of machining parts, MasterCAM, Esprit, and operations management.
+ Experience with tooling, CMM programming, OKUMA-Mills, troubleshooting, aerospace, and defense industries.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Performance is measured by On-Time Delivery and Customer Complaints metrics.
+ Experience in developing, coordinating, leading, and executing daily production plans.
+ Adherence to all Quality Management System policies, procedures, 5S processes, and plant safety.
+ Strong leadership and team management skills.

**Work Environment**
The Machining department is located in a warehouse environment that may be dusty, odorous, noisy, and subject to changing temperatures with outdoor weather. The employee will adhere to all Quality Management System policies, procedures, 5S processes, and plant safety.
Job Type: Full-time. Shift: 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday.
