**Job Title: CNC Machinist 2nd Shift**
**Job Description**
This is a 2nd shift CNC Machinist position working from 3 PM to 11 PM. The individual in this role will be responsible for operating the CNC department during the 2nd shift. The position involves setting up each job, running parts, performing quality inspections, and troubleshooting as necessary. The CNC machinist will also be responsible for editing programs when needed, although programming from scratch is not required. The role primarily involves machining tooling, specifically aluminum extrusions for both production and engineering parts, utilizing two Mills (3 and 5 Axis) from Brother CNC.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up each job and run parts on CNC machines.
+ Perform quality inspections on parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
+ Edit existing programs as necessary.
+ Ensure smooth operation of the CNC department during the 2nd shift.
+ Machining tooling, including aluminum extrusions for production and engineering parts.
+ Operate and maintain two Mills (3 and 5 Axis) from Brother CNC.
**Essential Skills**
+ Mid to high volume CNC machining experience.
+ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a CNC machinist.
+ Ability to set up and change over tooling.
+ Proficient in blueprint reading.
+ Experience with quality inspection using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with CNC machining and milling machines.
+ Proficiency in operating CNC machines and loading/unloading parts.
+ Ability to perform changeovers on CNC machines.

**Work Environment**
This position is located in a Tier 2 Automotive facility that deals with both cement and rubber. The work environment is strictly within the CNC department, which operates during the 2nd shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. The facility is equipped with two Mills (3 and 5 Axis) from Brother CNC, ensuring you will have access to advanced machinery and tools.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
