What You Will Contribute:
 

The CNC Machinist is responsible to create machine parts and tools using precision computer equipment according to blueprint specifications. CNC Machinists work with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic, or other materials. They also are expected to preform preventive maintenance on the machinery to ensure its functionality and performance.

Job Duties:

Work from detailed instructions, blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications.  

Sample part to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece.  

Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.  

Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.  

Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.  

Adjust machine controls, offsets, fixtures, and stops as required.  

Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings.  

Education and Experience:

High School Degree/GED required; Trade school preferred

3+ years of experience with CNC/Robotics desired

Qualifications:

Ability to modify/optimize CNC programs required

Experience operating lathes and other machinery preferred

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a Manufacturing environment

Depending on the assigned department, must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 60 pounds and complete an audiogram test 

Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day

This position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina
