KBR is seeking a CNC Machinist to support multiple spacecraft missions for KBR’s Science and Space Division.
The work will be performed at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, and will be second shift.
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for:
Setting-up, programming, and operation of CNC and conventional machines for end-to-end manufacturing with minimal supervision. Communicating and engaging with engineers and designers to collaborate about complex designs and provide fabrication insight to ensure project success.Achieving and maintaining proficiency with all applicable quality processes associated with assigned work. Monitoring and recording duration of work performed in the ERP system in accordance with business and Quality procedures.Performing in-process inspection using precision measuring instruments (i.e., I.D and O.D. Micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify that customer hardware specifications and tolerances are met.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A High School diploma or equivalent.Exposure CAD/CAM programming software.Competency in operating general computer functions such as email, file directories, and other web-based applications.3 years of experience with set-up, programming, and operation of CNC machining equipment.Able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Exposure to Multi-Axis machining.Exposure MasterCam programming software (2017 and up).Proficient computer skills in programs such as; Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.A current security clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level.Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to obtain Interim Secret by start date and full Secret and/or Top Secret thereafter.On-Site work performed at Laurel, MD location.Basic Compensation:
$51,600.00 - $77,300.00
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
