**Job Title: Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking an experienced machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines, including mills and lathes. You will work primarily on Mori Siekis and Doosans, utilizing precision measuring tools and blueprints on a daily basis. This role requires the ability to perform multiple set-ups per day, including selecting the appropriate tooling and fixtures.
2nd & 3rd shift available
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
+ Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to check parts.
+ Read and interpret blueprints daily.
+ Perform 1-3 set-ups per day, determining the appropriate tooling and fixtures.
+ Use G and M code for programming.
+ Select tools, machines, and materials for machinery work.
+ Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
+ Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments.
+ Machine parts to specifications using lathes and milling machines.
+ Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
+ Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
+ Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations.
+ Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs by observing and listening to operating machines.
+ Ensure work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled.
+ Position and fasten work pieces.
+ Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
+ Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.
+ Advise clients about the materials used for finished products.
+ Exchange technical information with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel.
+ Work with Engineering and cutting tool suppliers to improve tool life.
+ Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with CNC mills and lathes.
+ Ability to set up machines and perform troubleshooting.
+ Knowledge of GD&T, change over procedures, and solid programming skills.
+ Proficiency in using blueprints and CNC machine operation.
+ Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
+ 3+ years of machining and/or CNC setup experience.
+ Basic blueprint reading skills.
+ Ability to recognize when something is wrong and take appropriate action.
+ Capability to lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds.
+ Ability to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for 8 hours or more.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Solidworks and machining.
+ Proficiency in using various precision instruments.
+ Good communication skills to advise clients and confer with technical personnel.
+ Ability to work in a team and independently.

**Work Environment**
You will work in a large facility with multiple buildings, but you will be assigned to one building. The work area is set up in cells, so you will work on more than one machine at a time. The dress code includes jeans and a work shirt.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hillside, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.76 - $29.65/hr.
