**CNC Machinist - 5 Axis**
**Job Description:**
Are you a skilled CNC Machinist with a passion for precision and quality? Join our dynamic team and work with cutting-edge technology to create large, high-quality parts from titanium. You'll set up and operate CNC Mazak machines, perform your own quality checks, and interpret detailed blueprints.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Set up and operate CNC Mazak machines to manufacture large parts.
+ Work with titanium and other advanced materials.
+ Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and templates, including dimensional, true position, and circularity call outs.
+ Set up fixtures properly, including clamping, centering, and indicating of fixtures.
+ Set up cutting tools and change out inserts for cutting operations.
+ Monitor and control operations of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
**Essential Skills:**
+ 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
+ Experience working with large parts and titanium.
+ Ability to perform own quality checks.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and blueprint symbols.
+ Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
+ Understanding of shop mathematics and Feeds & Speed calculations.
+ Familiarity with machines, controllers, and tools (Fanuc or Mazak).
+ Proficiency in using measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, and bar gauges.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications:**
+ Experience with Mazak Mazatrol and 5 axis CNC machines.
+ Experience in the aerospace industry.
+ Knowledge of Mazak 1800, Mazak 1850, DMG, Okuma Multus, and Doosan Puma SMX.
+ Proficiency in GD&T.

**Work Environment:**
This location is one of the largest CNC shops in San Diego, specializing in aerospace engine parts for government and commercial companies. Currently, we are working on a project for Rolls Royce and GE to manufacture parts for the LEAP engine, which will be fitted to 90% of all commercial airplanes globally. This is the largest engine overhaul project ever.
**Job Type & Location:**
**This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, California.**
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
