Summary:

Candidate must machine product utilizing CNC machining centers according to company or customer drawings and specifications.This role will report directly to Machine Shop Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operation of CNC lathes and millsInspects output for quality and documents or discards defects.Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements for assigned area.Must report to work at scheduled time every dayBe in your work area and prepared to begin work at the start of your shiftMaintains a safe and clean workstation and maintains housekeeping throughout the building.Monitors production, adjusting programming and other settings as necessary.Must have own machinist tools.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

Vocational Training or three years’ experience as a CNC machinist is preferred.High School graduate, or general education degree preferredAbility to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, and instructions to ensure accurate production.Ability to machine product in accordance with customer or company drawings and specifications and maintain minimum production standards.Communication skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to perform basic mathMust have ability to utilize Manufacturing System to scan time card and labor ticketsAbility to work with minimal supervision.Mechanically inclined and have the ability to work with your handsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain a clean work environmentAbility to work overtime as requiredMust have the ability perform your own machine set-upsMust have knowledge of machinist measuring tools and ability to perform quality checks

Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.Employee is regularly required to stand, lift, stoop, and walk for 5 hours at a time, without breaks.Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.Employee must have the ability to work with their hands to load parts and set-up machine.Employee is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours a day.Employee is required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses at all times.  Must have the ability to wear hearing protection when in production areas that require it. Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.Requires daily face-to-face interaction with co-workers on production floor.

The employee will normally work on the production floor and may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.  May occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and loud noise.
