CNC Machinist
**Job Title: Machinist** **Job Description** As a Machinist, you will operate machines, read blueprints, and use measuring instruments. While setup experience is a plus, it is not required for all Machinist roles. You will primarily operate mills and lathes, including Mazaks, Mazatrol, and combination mill and lathe machines. Other machines on the floor include waterjets, horizontal grinder double, omni lathes, single disc, horizontal friction grinder, OD grinder, and honing machine. Key Responsibilities: - Operate machines and read blueprints. - Use measuring instruments. - Setup machines for certain roles. - Operate mills and lathes, primarily Mazaks and Mazatrol. - Follow work orders and run assigned tasks. - For Operator level: Run parts after setup, check parts regularly. - For Machinist level: Setup machines, load programs, ensure dimensional correctness, and run parts. - Maintain part counts, scrap amounts, and report tool breaks. - Meet performance metrics with support and training. - Communicate issues to team leads. - Complete multiple work orders daily. - Check for tool wear and replace tools as needed. - Work with G&M code, Fanuc controls, mostly 3-4 axis mills and lathes. - Hold tolerances between +/- .2 and +/- .0005. - Work primarily with steel and aluminum. **Hard Skills** + 1 year minimum running CNC machines (Operator level) + 2+ years CNC experience and setup (Machinist level) + Understanding programs and changeovers + Touching off tools + Use of standard measuring tools (micrometers, drop gauges, indicators) + Ability to read and interpret blueprints/drawings **Soft Skills** + Communication + Attention to detail + Problem-solving **Job Type** This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s). **Work Site** This is a fully on-site position in New Hartford, Connecticut. **Work Environment** Clean and organized shop floor. Total of 160 on shop floor, 200 in facility.
