Job Description
The HIGH-LEVEL Machinist will be responsible for all aspects of set-up and operation of CNC machines and other machinery as needed. This includes monitoring machine, tooling, and cutting fluid levels, reviewing samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output, and taking measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping. The role also involves planning the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job, monitoring output to ensure consistency with specifications, discarding defects, and maintaining a clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Responsibilities/QualificationsSet up and operate CNC machines and other machinery as needed.Monitor machine, tooling, and cutting fluid levels.Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion.Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.Ensure lubrication/coolant tanks are filled and chip buckets are emptied as necessary.Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.Proficiency in machining quality tooling using Engine lathe(s), EDM, Drill Press(s), Shaper, Saw, Manual Bridge Port, CNC Lathes, Mills, and Boring Mill.Ability to perform set-ups and programming at the machine and at a computer.Experience with 3D printing.Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.Ability to read and write simple instructions.Ability to effectively report relevant data and job-specific information as needed.Intermediate to advanced level mathematics skills.Ability to navigate basic technology including digital self-service platforms, time clocks, and other systems.Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.Experience with Siemens Controls is a plus.Familiarity with tools such as Lathe, Troubleshooting, HAAS, CNC Programming, Blueprints, Drill press, Shear, Mechanical, Change over, Medical, Machine operating, Grinding, Programming, Mill, Machining, Cad/cam, Gd&t, and Proposals.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment includes interaction with historic machinery throughout the facility, which often involves proximity to heat, noise, debris, overhead cranes, and other potentially dangerous equipment. The position operates on the 1st shift, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. The company is an established designer and manufacturer of mechanical equipment, recognized for its expertise in the field of machine design.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
