CNC Machinist
**CNC Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who can perform tasks requiring high levels of cognitive function and judgment. The ideal candidate will be able to take prompt and appropriate responses to operating conditions, work in an unfatigued state, and accurately gauge time and distance. The candidate should also be capable of quickly recalling instructions, concentrating, and coping with sudden changes or emergency situations. A high school diploma or GED is required, and the candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. **Responsibilities** + Follow verbal machine operation instructions from the department lead. + Assess drawings and manufacturing planning for machining requirements. + Carefully load parts into machines, operate the machine’s control panel, unload parts, deburr parts, and arrange parts in boxes or on pallets. + Monitor features and dimensions on each component run and deburr finished parts. + Support supervisors in running production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspecting quality parts for conformance to requirements. + Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces. + Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as a guide for subsequent machining. + Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines as required to ensure production quality. + Report all machine malfunctions to the lead. + Keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly, perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment. + Adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies, and Safety and Environmental Regulations. + Perform other duties as assigned by management. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a vertical machine operator. + Minimum of 2 years’ experience in CNC programming with vertical & horizontal mills, 4th axis machining & positioners, and Fanuc & Okuma controllers. + Experience with different types of equipment, inspection tooling, speeds/feeds, and tooling. + Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. + Demonstrate a caring, committed, and concerned attitude about safety. + MasterCam programming experience. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED. + ITAR Compliance + Use of personal tools, including a lockable toolbox, dead blow, allen wrenches, calipers, tape measure, dial and/or travel indicator. + Sheet metal experience (shop is 95% sheet metal machining). + Experience with Haas and Fanuc machines. **Why Work Here?** We offer a full range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and a 401k with a 5% match. This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. In the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, excessive heat, cold, wet, bright light, and slippery conditions.
