**Job Title: Mill Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Day Shift CNC Mill Set-up Technician to join our team. This role requires intermediate to journeyman level CNC Mill Machining experience, with the ability to handle both vertical and horizontal setups from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be process-oriented, possess a strong sense of urgency, and be willing to adapt to established processes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform short run, precision CNC machining and manage 1st runs.
+ Set up and operate CNC and machining centers to fabricate precision machined parts.
+ Work with various machining equipment including vertical milling, horizontal milling, turning centers, turn/mill centers, and multi-axis machines.
+ Specialize in setting up mill turn sub spindle live tooling lathes with minimal supervision.
+ Collaborate closely with Programming and Manufacturing Manager for cycle time reduction and machine optimization.
+ Provide guidance and instruction to other machine operators and machinists.
+ Submit program change requests for review and edits by the programming team.
+ Operate machinery such as MATSUURA MX-850, MATSUURA MAM-500HG-PC11, DMG MORI - MILL TURN (NLX 3000 & NLX 2500), DMU50 DECKEL MAHO 5 AXIS UNIVERSAL MILLING MACHINE, A55 HORIZONTAL CELL MACHINING CENTER, A88 HORIZONTAL CELL MACHINING CENTER, and A77 HORIZONTAL CELL MACHINING CENTER.
+ Review and study CAD drawings, models, blueprints, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances for machining operations.
+ Select, align, and secure work holding/fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
+ Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
+ Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using calibrated measuring and test equipment.
+ Submit 1st Piece Article to the Inspection Department for verification before continuing production.
+ Log job operations in the ERP system and sign off on corresponding job operations.
+ Design and fabricate or support related manufacturing tasks for tooling, cutters, work holding, and fixtures.
+ Monitor and maintain machine coolants, lubricants, oils, fluids, and other maintenance needs.
+ Provide input and solutions for production improvement strategies and collaborate with other personnel for technical and production-related issues.
**Essential Skills**
+ Intermediate or journeyman level machinist experience with set-up capabilities.
+ Proficiency in CNC Mill Machining, including vertical and horizontal setups.
+ Strong process orientation and adaptability to established processes.
+ Ability to manage short run, precision CNC machining.
+ Experience with CAD, CAM software for CNC programming.
+ Knowledge of G&M codes, Mazak, Fanuc, and machining processes.
+ Proficiency in using and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with Mazak CNC’s is a plus but not required.
+ 5-axis CNC Mill Experience is desirable.
+ Knowledge or experience with Mastercam or newer versions.
+ Familiarity with Renishaw probe systems.

**Work Environment**
Work in a clean machining facility that currently houses over 10 CNC machines, with more being added. The facility includes a clean room and QC area, and has been in operation for only 2 years, with ongoing construction. The day shift team consists of 5 programmers/machinists, encouraging collaboration and continuous improvement.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of TUALATIN, Oregon.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00
