CNC MACHINIST IN SUMMERVILLE, SC – Sign On Bonus (Up to $5K)

Location:            Summerville, SC

Job Overview:     

Skilled Pay = $30 - $35 / hr. (8+ yrs. experience), Sign-On Bonus (up to $5K).6 Month contract benefits available – Conversion to company benefits / 401K thereafter. Working 40 hours (up to 60 hours per week during the busier seasons) – Overtime is NOT guaranteed.ASAP Hire - Limited openings for January!! {Approximately 2 spots left on 2nd shift, 3 spots on 3rd shift}Need a minimum 6 yrs. experience in the following:CNC operation/machining/setup/programming in a shop environment.Will be making large turbines, so need to have experience machining larger parts.Will be working with thicker, heavier materials like carbon steel.This is an expert-level machinist position – Ideal candidates have experience with subsea/aerospace/naval/defense manufacturing.

(Required) Must be able to pass an online assessment: Ramsay test*(Required) Travelers will interview with the machine shop managers via a MS Teams Video Call*(Optional) Must be able to get a Secret / DOD clearance* if wishing to relocate / go permanent with the company in the future.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, as well as conventional machines to produce (and repair) a variety of finished and semi-finished components.Assemble and disassemble machined parts and components using established manufacturing processes.Read and interpret detailed part and tool drawings.Set up and operate a variety of CNC machines, including the following:Multi-axis machines, HBM, VTL, lathe, grinding, and hone machine toolsFrequent use of machinist and fabrication tools, computers and attachments of all types and sizes of fixtures, attachments, gauges, precision measuring equipment, micrometers, calipers, etc.Operate bridge cranes, jib cranes, fork trucks, hand trucks, etc. for material handling, and computers and Manufacturing Systems.Follow established operational procedures to perform all machining functions such as turn, mill, bore, groove, chamfer, profile, taper, tap, etc.Hand or machine blending and finishing as required.Maintain drawing requirements including length, diameters, perpendicularity, parallelism, concentricity, etc.Support development and routine machining operations associated with NC/CNC Mill/Turn, HBM, VTL, Horizontal Lathe equipment.Assist in the startup of NC/CNC machines including Mill/Turn, HBM, VTL, Horizontal Lathe, multi-axis equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High School Graduate / GED / Diploma.Completion of a four-year machinist apprenticeship or equivalent is an asset.6+ years' experience in CNC machining and setup/programming experience within a job shop type environment.Ability to maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level, and effectively communicate with others.Must demonstrate basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to assembly work and machining.Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds to waist height and transporting a distance of 10 feet.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00
