CNC Machinist
**Job Title: CNC Mill Machinist** **Job Description** A rotating equipment repair shop that specializes in refurbishing pumps, compressors, and turbines is hiring for a CNC Mill Machinist. The ideal candidate will be skilled in reading blueprints, setting up, and editing CNC Milling machines, both vertically and horizontally, using Fanuc controllers. The role involves machining medium to large-sized parts to tight tolerances on a variety of metals. **Responsibilities** + Read and interpret blueprints to set up and edit CNC Milling machines. + Operate CNC Milling machines both vertically and horizontally using Fanuc controllers. + Machine medium to large-sized parts to tight tolerances on various metals. + Perform setups and edits on Fanuc controllers. + Work in a job shop setting, handling diverse machining tasks. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience in CNC mill machining. + Proficient in reading blueprints and performing setups and edits on Fanuc controllers. + Experience with vertical and horizontal milling. + Ability to machine medium to large parts with tight tolerances. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in machining rotating equipment parts (pumps, turbines, compressors). + Knowledge of working with exotic metals. + CNC programming skills. + Manual machining experience. + Experience with Horizontal Boring Mill and line boring. **Why Work Here?** This is a small, down-to-earth shop that offers a job shop environment with exciting new projects. The opportunity to learn and train on all types of machines keeps the work interesting and engaging. **Work Environment** The work environment includes three machine shops within a couple of blocks of each other. All shops are clean and organized but not climate-controlled. Large parts are moved around frequently, and unique machines are used, often requiring bay doors to remain open. The team comprises CNC machinists, manual machinists, mechanics, and inspectors who all interact to complete tasks. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses. The standard shift is from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential extended hours from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm when projects are stacked. Occasionally, a night shift may be required, running from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am for a few weeks at a time. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
