Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lathe Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CNC setup and operation, working with 3 and 4 axis lathes, and the ability to work with extremely tight tolerances. The role involves interpreting blueprints, utilizing inspection tools, and documenting results.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and set up milling machines.Interpret blueprints and shop layouts according to company specifications.Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to perform minor quality checks.Document results accurately.Work with extremely tight tolerances, specifically working with 10ths of an inch using GD&T metrics.Essential SkillsCNC setup and operation experience.Experience with 3 and 4 axis lathe operation (5 axis is a plus).Ability to work with extremely tight tolerances.Working knowledge of interpreting blueprints and GD&T.Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic to intermediary math skills.Certification or degree preferred but not necessary.3-4 years of experience working on lathes (3 and 4 axis; 5 axis is a plus).Troubleshooting and mechanical skills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will be working alongside about 30 other CNC Operators, primarily focusing on lathes. The work environment separates mill and lathe operators, though candidates with experience in both areas are welcome. The first shift operates from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Note that the second shift works a 4-day work week, with 10-hour days. The dress code is business casual, but steel toe boots are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poughkeepsie, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
