**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who can perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment. The ideal candidate must be able to respond promptly and appropriately to operating conditions, accurately gauge lengths of time and distance, store and recall instructions quickly, and concentrate effectively.
**Responsibilities**
+ Follow verbal machine operation instructions from the department lead.
+ Assess drawings and manufacturing planning for machining requirements.
+ Carefully load parts into machines, operate the machine’s control panel, unload parts, deburr parts, and arrange parts in boxes or on pallets.
+ Sometimes run two machines at once.
+ Monitor features and dimensions on each component run and deburr finished parts.
+ Support supervisors in running production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspecting quality parts for conformance to requirements.
+ Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
+ Identify the likely results of actions before taking them.
+ Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
+ Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to ensure quality of production.
+ Report all machine malfunctions to the lead.
+ Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, leaving the workstation better than found.
+ Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
+ Adhere to and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, company policies, and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a vertical machine operator.
+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience in CNC programming with vertical and horizontal mills, 4th axis machining, positioners, and Fanuc and Okuma controllers.
+ Experience with different types of equipment, inspection tooling, speeds/feeds, and tooling.
+ Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
+ Demonstrate a caring, committed, and concerned attitude about safety.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Use of personal tools, including a lockable toolbox, dead blow, allen wrenches, calipers, tape measure, dial and/or travel indicator is a plus.
+ Experience with MasterCam.
+ Sheet metal experience is a plus as the shop is 95% sheet metal machining.

**Work Environment**
The job operates in a manufacturing plant and professional office environment. This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. In the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, excessive heat, cold, wet, bright light, and slippery conditions. The noise level can be very loud, and ear protection is provided. The schedule includes a 4/10 work week from Monday to Thursday with day shifts (5am - 3:30pm) and swing shifts (1:30pm - 11pm).
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, Washington.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00
