**Job Title: Set-Up Machinist $27 - $30/hr**
**Job Description**
The Set-Up Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machines according to company procedures and instructions. This intermediate-to-advanced level position ensures that quality, dimensions, and key characteristics are maintained while producing seaming machine parts. The role includes performing periodic checks, spot checks of finished products, and ensuring CNC mills and lathes are set up properly and maintained.
**Responsibilities**
+ Follow optimal company operational policies and procedures.
+ Maintain the company's quality and safety standards.
+ Set up and operate machines according to job specifications and shop traveler instructions.
+ Edit CNC programs as needed.
+ Machine a wide variety of materials including Aluminum 6061, Stainless Steel 17-4, 303, plastic, and fiberglass.
+ Lead a team in a fast-paced, flexible environment running 5+ machines.
+ Ensure excellent Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and blueprint familiarity.
+ Lead decision-making for setup, fixturing, machine troubleshooting, and probing.
+ Collaborate with the team to integrate manufacturing capabilities with design objectives.
+ Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zeros and reference points.
+ Set tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches.
+ Review blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of the product.
+ Calculate requirements and adjust three and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2-5 years of machinist experience.
+ 2-5 years of CNC lathe experience.
+ 2-5 years of CNC set-up and production experience.
+ Ability to edit CNC programs.
+ Experience machining a wide variety of materials.
+ Strong technical judgment and autonomy.
+ Excellent Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing skills.
+ Blueprint familiarity and inspection knowledge.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to make strategic manufacturing decisions.
+ Experience with Fanuc Controls and Haas Machinery.

**Work Environment**
Standard machine shop environment with 13 mills and 13 lathes. The first shift is from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Thursday, and 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, with optional overtime on Saturdays. The facility uses Fanuc Controls and Haas Machinery.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chino, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
