CNC Machinist
Job Title: Machinist
Job Description

Our company was founded in 1980 to provide the US Military, law enforcement, and government agencies with precision-engineered, high-quality weapons, components, and modular weapon systems. We have secured new international projects and contracts, including 500 GL's in Estonia and various other locations worldwide. We are in need of machinists for our 2nd and 3rd shifts, including 3 CNC operators and 2 manual machinists for each shift. We are looking for quality individuals who are interested in long-term opportunities.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and adjust CNC Mill and Lathe tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided and setups are made and maintained by others.Set up machines and tooling, including Mazak equipment.Utilize precision measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, and height stands.Measure to .001 accuracy.Follow written instructions from work instruction sheets.Read and interpret blueprints to check parts for conformance.Make adjustments to tool offsets to correct feature discrepancies.Judge if cutting tools need to be changed based on basic understanding and experience.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude.Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical devices.Basic knowledge of machining processes (milling/lathes, horizontal/vertical).Capability to use precision measuring devices.Competence to measure to .001 accuracy.Experience with CNC lathe and mill setup and operation.Strong attention to detail and communication skills.Ability to follow written instructions.Strong blueprint reading skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Mazak machines is a plus.Willingness to learn M and G code programming.Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with Brother, Okuma, G-codes, M-codes, lathes, and mills.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Our facility is very clean and updated, having moved to the Eldridge location in the last 15 years. The environment is well-lit but can be loud at times. Candidates may be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and will work near moving mechanical parts. We foster a family-like atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eldridge, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
