CNC Machinist
**CNC Machinist/Programmer** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Senior Machinist responsible for the set-up and operation of CNC machines and other machining equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and quality of the produced parts, maintain machine tools, and uphold a clean and safe work environment. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate CNC machines and other machining equipment. + Monitor machine, tooling, and cutting fluid levels. + Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output. + Take measurements and mark materials for cutting or shaping. + Plan the sequence of necessary actions for job completion. + Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects. + Ensure lubrication/coolant tanks are filled and chip buckets are emptied as necessary. + Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. **Qualifications** + Proficiency in machining quality tooling using Engine lathe(s), CNC lathes, Mills, Boring Mill, EDM, Drill Press(s), Shaper, Saw, and Manual Bridge Port. + Experience in CNC programming and set-ups both at the machine and on a computer. + Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other gages. + Ability to read and write simple instructions. + Effective reporting of relevant data and job-specific information. + Intermediate to advanced level mathematics skills. + Basic technology navigation including digital self-service platforms, time clocks, and other systems. + Capability to regularly lift and move up to 40 lbs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Siemens Controls is a plus. + Understanding of CAD/CAM software. + Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). + Mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. + Experience with 3D printing is desirable. **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned shop with a close-knit team of 10 people, where you will have the opportunity to work with local steel companies. The position is on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
