Job Description
We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists for both 1st and 2nd shift positions. The ideal candidate will have a strong epertise in Aerospace, Military, or prototype facilities and possess at least 5 years of experience in CNC machining from start to finish.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools necessary to complete work.Set up and operate all available machine tools, performing progressive machining operations on work involving very close tolerances or unusual requirements.Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.Ensure product quality meets and customer specifications.Work with CNC Programmers to establish CNC tool setups and validate CNC programs for use on 3 and/or 5 axis CNC machines.Obtain all necessary tooling, correct drawings, and any special instructions.Set up and understand CNC programs and operate CNC mills.Detect and report faulty machine operations, defective material and equipment, drawing discrepancies, and other unusual conditions to the CNC Machinist Leader.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills5+ years of CNC Mill Machining experience in a prototype facility.Ability to perform from start to finish including set-ups, offsets, tool changes, and running the machine.Proficiency in reading blueprints and working with tight tolerances.Utilize micrometers, calipers, and gauges.Experience with CAD/CAM software.prototype or aerospace machining.Experience machining large parts.Additional Skills & QualificationsHorizontal machining experience.Siemens and Heidenhain controllerWork NC Programming edits.Experience with weldments, how to balance them, and use tooling balls to pick a job up on the machine.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a newer, large facility with a laid-back atmosphere, provided tasks are completed efficiently. The facility is clean compared to other manufacturing environments, with designated areas for different worker groups and effective processes in place. It can be warmer in the summer, but there is some breeze. The 2nd shift runs from M-F 4:00pm - 2:30am, with mandatory 8-hour Saturdays and optional Sundays. A $2.00 shift premium is available for 2nd shift once direct.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, Michigan.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
