CNC Machinist
**5 Axis CNC Mill Machinist - Setup and Operator** **Job Description** A family-owned manufacturer of precision machined parts is seeking an experienced 5 Axis CNC Mill Machinist to operate and set up CNC Mills. The parts manufactured are close tolerance, made from aircraft alloys, and are sold to the Aerospace and Defense industry. **Responsibilities** + Interpret mechanical parts blueprints and work instructions to set up CNC mills. + Consult with the CNC Programming team to determine parts machining plans. + Set up and adjust CNC 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, including vertical and horizontal mills. + Modify offsets and G code using FANUC and Siemens controls. + Set up machines, load and run parts, change cutting tools, and make offsets and adjustments. + For second night shift, both set up and operate 5 axis mills and supervise the night crew. + Assist the management team by completing any other duties as assigned. + Work closely and communicate effectively with the Production Manager to achieve product quality and production goals. + Communicate with customers regarding quality issues and respond to customer corrective action requests. + Participate in product customer source inspection of parts as directed. + Perform daily mechanical parts inspection functions using surface plates and/or CMM tools: conduct in-process, first article reports, and final physical inspections. + Inspect parts using hand tools such as mics, indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, and surface plate inspection techniques. + Operate CMM to inspect parts; PCDMIS experience is desired. + Read and interpret GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings. + Review material and processing certifications for compliance with Aerospace standards and confirm accordance with planning and customer specifications. + Inspect precision machined parts using mics, surface plate inspection techniques, CMM tools, optical comparators, thread and plug gauges. + Inspect raw metals for size, condition, and conformance to specifications. + Maintain logs, scan paperwork, file online, and email. + Support the Operations Manager and Quality Manager or Supervisor as required. **Essential Skills** + Experience with 5 Axis CNC mills and Siemens controls. + Proficiency in modifying offsets and G code using FANUC and Siemens controls. + Knowledge of GD&T ANSI Y14.5 engineering drawings. + Experience machining aircraft-grade alloys and heat-treated materials. + Aerospace experience, including military and defense experience. + Ability to inspect parts using hand tools and CMM tools. + Effective communication skills with the Production Manager and customers. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + PCDMIS experience is desired. + Experience with Mori Seiki, Mazak, or Siemens controls. + Familiarity with surface plate inspection techniques and optical comparators. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a 4x10 schedule from Monday to Thursday, 6 am to 4:30 pm, with potential overtime on Fridays. The work environment is collaborative, and employees are supported in achieving production and quality goals. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Anaheim, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $104000.00/yr.
