**Job Title: CNC Machinist**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate complex jobs on CNC equipment. The ideal candidate will utilize their knowledge of working properties and machining procedures for a wide variety of materials. The role requires working from blueprints and process sheets to machine parts to close tolerances, selecting proper tools and fixtures, and calculating controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. The CNC Machinist will start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions, make necessary adjustments, develop machine programs, and verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up complex jobs on CNC equipment.
+ Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining procedures for various materials.
+ Work from blueprints and process sheets to machine parts to close tolerances.
+ Select proper tools and fixtures for each job.
+ Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit machine control media.
+ Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
+ Develop machine programs if none exist.
+ Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
+ Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
+ Follow preventative maintenance procedures on equipment.
+ Complete and scan work orders accurately for each job.
+ Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safety.
+ Function with dignity and respect for all in the workplace.

+ Perform other similar or related duties as directed or necessary to accomplish the department’s objectives.
**Essential Skills**
+ One-year certificate from college or technical school and/or one-year related experience and/or training.
+ Knowledge of CNC equipment capabilities and preventative maintenance.
+ Working knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
+ Strong mechanical and technical skills.
+ Ability to read blueprints efficiently and accurately.
+ Ability to produce assigned work within allotted time.
+ G-Code programming on both Haas and Mazak mills.
+ Ability to make minor edits on Haas vertical mill programs.
+ Capability to program on Mazak lathe (2-axis lathe).
+ Basic understanding of GD&T.
+ Ability to use basic tools such as tape measure, caliper, micrometer, dial indicator, and bore micrometer.
+ Capability of understanding and performing setups.
+ Ability to make minor adjustments and check own work.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Some technical training program in machining/CNC is a plus.

**Work Environment**
The work environment includes operating CNC machines such as CNC Lathe or CNC Vertical Machining Center, and may also involve working on manual machines. Employees are expected to follow preventative maintenance procedures and maintain a safe and alert state. The role requires a professional and respectful attitude towards colleagues and adherence to EEO guidelines and principles. Working hours and shifts are scheduled, and punctuality is essential.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lynn Haven, Florida.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
