Cnc Machinist
**Job Title: CNC Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, operate, or program various types of machines for the production of piece parts for shelters. The goal is to achieve quality and integrity of products at the lowest possible cost. **Responsibilities** + Receive instructions both verbally and from detailed prints and routings. + Set up and operate CNC machining centers. + Perform operations including boring, counter boring, turning, tapping, threading, milling, drilling, reaming, broaching, chamfering, deburring. + Assist with and/or construct fixtures, jigs, tools, soft vise jaws, shop aids. + Produce piece parts & parts for prototypes, as well as parts for machine and building maintenance as needed. + Assist with and/or perform repairs to parts on jigs, fixtures, dies, and shop aids. + Assist with repairs to machines and equipment in the machine shop as required. + Perform other functions such as moving parts/material, loading/unloading, sweeping, cleaning, and various other assignments as needed. + Use various measuring and inspection tools and equipment for piece part inspection, compliance, and accuracy verification. + Maintain a clean and safe work area. + Supply own machine shop/metal working hand tools and measuring tools. + Select job orders from the board in the shop, which include blueprints, job details, tooling sheet, and program details. + Read print, set up all tooling, touch off, and run the first part, then inspect with Caliper and Micrometer. + Make basic G&M Code adjustments primarily to speed and feed. + Call up the job program to the specific machine, with training provided on the proprietary system. + Perform up to 3 changeovers daily, with daily production goals varying based on workload. + Complete paperwork and computer work to sign off on first part inspections and final part inspections for runs. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of CNC Set Up Experience (Preferably on 3 Axis+ CNC Milling Machines) + Experience with Fadal, Matsuura, Haas VMC's + Experience with setting up machinery, reading blueprints, and work orders + Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) + Proficiency in first part inspection + Proficiency in using Micrometers and Calipers **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing facility + Strong mechanical aptitude + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Excellent problem-solving skills **Why Work Here?** Our company offers a great working environment with ample opportunities for training and growth. The facility houses various machines such as Fadal, Haas, and Matsuura CNC Milling Machines, mostly FANUC controlled. The machine shop and plant are not fully climate-controlled but are kept neat and clean. Fans continuously push air through the facility, making it cooler during the evening/night shifts. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed shoes, a clean shirt, safety glasses, and ear protection.
