The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist II will lead the process of creating low volume and one-of-a-kind parts from a variety of materials. The role will work with customers following projects through multiple phases from receipt of concept to delivery of finished product. The role will utilize 3D CAD modeling in Tebis or Mastercam to support complex customer requests. The CNC Machinist II will use CNC machining, manual machining, and various inspection processes to achieve outcomes. This position is based in Dearborn, MI.
As a CNC Machinist II, you will be responsible for:
Develop wire frame and solid models, modify imported models, and edit post processors to suit various equipment using Tebis, WorkNC or Mastercam softwareOperate CNC machines, lathes and mills, inspect quality, and make adjustmentsReceive and interpret direction in multiple formats: verbal, sketches, prints, Computer Aided Design (CAD) files, solid modelsLead planning and setup of multi-phase CNC machining process including troubleshooting, design changes, and issue resolutionPrep, inspect, finish, and join parts using manual equipment and hand toolsDesign and machine fixtures and jigsMaintain machinery, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized stateSubmit requests for restocking materials or suppliesTo be considered for a CNC Machinist II, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of experience with CNC machine operation and 3D ProgrammingExperience with 3-axis milling operationsProficient in Tebis, WorkNC or Mastercam softwareWorking knowledge of shop tools including bandsaw, sander, drill press and inspection equipmentBasic knowledge of manual grinding (internal (ID)/ (outer diameter (OD), surface grinding, rotary), honing, lapping, mill, latheAbility to read blueprints and interpret drawings of three-dimensional parts, edit G & M code using machine controller and use of measuring tools and devicesAbility to use MS Office products and manage files and good communication skillsA successful candidate may also have:
