CNC Machinist - Multus - 2nd Shift

Operation of CNC Mills and Lathes to produce high quality, precision tooling used in the Maag family of products. They will operate all CNC equipment in the production of this tooling in a safe and efficient manner. Will work in a team-oriented environment with individual responsibilities in each step of the machining process. 

Position Description - Tasks, Responsibilities, Competencies

Read and interpret blueprints   

Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes 

Establish zero and reference points for each part to be machined.  

Understand work holding systems. 

Work from set up sheets. 

Use the most effective and efficient methods to operate each machine. 

Install machining programs into the machine. 

Send correct offsets to each tool being used. 

Establish zero and reference points for each part to be machined.  

Monitor and replace worn tools as needed. 

Dimensionally and visually inspect the product to assure the product meets all print and customer requirements 

Other tasks as assigned by manager.

Work Environment

Work in this position is in a machine shop environment. The employee may be exposed to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts. PPE and hearing protection are required at all times.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, or bend.  The employee must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds.  

  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Education

Mandatory

High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus)   

Desirable

Machinist / Tool Maker apprenticeship card  

Technical training / certifications 

Professional Experience

Mandatory

Minimum of 3 years CNC experience. 

Desirable

CNC Programing / Set up / Operation 

Wire and plunge EMD experience.

Interpersonal Skills and Behavioral Competencies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks 

Independent self-starter with ability to problem solve and anticipate and avoid issues
