We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Aerospace Manufacturing Machinist to join our dynamic team. Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements, including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

3rd Shift Schedule Options

Monday-Friday 10pm-6:15am

Position Summary:

Level Two: Building upon level one, with minimal assistance, level two machinists operate 2-5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells as well as standalone machines, which requires basic machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, as well as loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Level two machinist competencies include using more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height, air gauge, and bench inspection. The level two machinist will have basic competencies in print reading and common CNC G and M codes. May work in one of the three areas: CNC, Turning, or Screw Machine.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and other specifications in English to determine the setup and operation requirements of machines and equipment.Set up and operate various machines, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.Measure and examine completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.Conduct in-process inspection and final quality checks to ensure that all parts meet the rigorous standards of aerospace manufacturing, including surface finish, dimensions, and material properties.Collaborate with aerospace engineers and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance machining processes and product quality.Perform routine maintenance and calibration on machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.Document manufacturing processes, including machine settings, operational procedures, and inspection results, maintaining accurate records in accordance with aerospace industry regulations.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company policies and safety standards.Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.Meets production demands.Run production on multiple machines at once. (Primary & Secondary)

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship in machining is preferred.Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role.Strong understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.Excellent manual dexterity, precision, and attention to detail.Familiarity with machining operations and principles, including milling, turning, and grinding.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with effective communication skills.Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and wear protective equipment as required.The ability to identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.A working knowledge of G and M codes applied in setting and adjusting offsets and interacting with CNC programs.A working knowledge of shop math, including tool geometry, positive and negative numbers, and basic geometry.
