Job Title: CNC Operator
Job Description

Seeking an entry-level CNC Operator who is eager to learn a new trade. The ideal candidate will be interested in and capable of learning to run manual and CNC lathes and/or mills. The Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and components according to blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. The CNC Operator will ensure the machines are running efficiently and learn to troubleshoot any issues that arise during production.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.) to produce parts and productsLoad and unload raw materials and parts into machines, ensuring correct alignment and positioningMonitor machine performance during production to detect any potential issues or deviations from specificationsInspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance with specificationsPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure proper functioning and extend machine lifeTroubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions and technical issuesMaintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety protocolsFollow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Document production data, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality checksEssential SkillsGeneral productionMachine operationCNC machineAdditional Skills & QualificationsUS Citizenship requiredAbility to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.Ability to perform repetitive movementsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

The role requires working in a machine shop environment, often exposed to loud noises, moving machinery, and potential hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. The position may require working in shifts, depending on production schedules. The candidate must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive movements. Additionally, the candidate must be able to operate multiple machines at one time.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
