Job Description
The electrical maintenance technician will work independently to perform maintenance, repair, and/or modification of the plant's computer-driven control systems. This role involves the fabrication, application, installation, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment, including the installation of electrical conduit and machine building wiring. The position is primarily electrical but may also require assistance with mechanical problems or two-person jobs. The technician will be part of the maintenance team, spending 90% of their time troubleshooting and repairing equipment on the floor. We are looking for individuals who can wear multiple hats if needed.
ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, repair, and modification of computer-driven control systems.Fabricate, apply, install, and repair mechanical and electromechanical equipment.Install electrical conduit and machine building wiring.Troubleshoot and repair equipment on the floor.Assist with mechanical problems or two-person jobs when electrical work is not available.Read, interpret, and modify electrical prints, schematics, and document changes.Ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA codes.Troubleshoot and repair CNC equipment, production equipment, and support machines.Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs, including equipment moves and installation.Implement continuous improvements for machinery to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.Update maintenance work order systems, including creating PMs, adding/removing equipment and parts, and assigning work orders and projects.Essential SkillsExperience in maintenance, electrician, and troubleshooting.Proficiency in electrical maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, and CNC maintenance.Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and motors.Strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to repair CNC equipment.Experience with electrical work involving 480 volts.Proficiency in troubleshooting and electrical maintenance.Knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to work in explosion-proof and intrinsically safe environments.Experience with pneumatic systems.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is temperature-controlled, well-lit, and clean, with most people working individually or in small groups. The facility contains many CNC lathe and mill machines, heat treating equipment, grinding machines, and Mitsubishi controls. The types of machines include Okuma and other older machinery. The hours are 1st shift: 7am - 3pm and 3rd shift: 11pm - 7am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marengo, Illinois.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
