CNC Mill Machinist
**Job Title: Mill Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machinist with experience in CNC milling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for their own setups and operation of machines, machining large blocks, weldments, and plate work. The machine has 4 axes, including a spindle. This role involves reading blueprints, using digital or standard manual micrometers, performing quality checks, drilling, tapping holes, changing tooling, and basic computer use to track progress. 3-D machining experience is also required. **Responsibilities** + Perform own setups and operate machines. + Machine large blocks, weldments, and plate work. + Read blueprints to machine parts. + Use digital or standard manual micrometers. + Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and visual inspection. + Drill and tap holes. + Change tooling. + Use basic computer skills to track parts' progress. + Perform 3-D machining. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience. + Experience running CNC Vertical Machining Center (VMC) mills. + Proficient in setting up and operating machines, typically one machine at a time. + Ability to read blueprints, read tolerances on micrometers, calipers, and gauges, and produce parts according to prints. + Adjust speeds and feeds on parts and change out tooling. **Work Environment** This is a job shop that machines parts typically for large dies, with 50% of business in automotive and 50% in various industries. Work 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with flexible hours and start times. Average 40-45 hours a week, with potential for up to 55 hours depending on the season. The shop offers great working conditions, including air conditioning, great benefits, and coffee.
