Job Description
The Mill Machinist with 5 Axis Experience is responsible for the setup and operation of the 5 Axis CNC machine in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. The role requires demonstrated abilities to read engineered drawings, set up and operate manual mills and lathes, troubleshoot, and perform a complex variety of machining skills.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate 5 Axis CNC to machine flat, contoured, and formed parts to inch and metric drawing specifications.Act as a technical resource regarding tooling and machining capabilities.Evaluate and justify new tooling and machining processes.Communicate issues relating to work orders, programming errors, material shortages, or errors.Continuously focus on the reduction of material, labor, and scrap.Learn, comprehend, and apply manufacturing safety practices.Manage products and processes.Perform minor maintenance activities as required by the preventive maintenance program.Continue education and training, including but not limited to ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, teamwork, and Statistical Process Control.Maintain cleanliness of the work area.Accurately record labor time for job tracking.Present a professional image in accordance with company appearance standards.Demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.Demonstrate and promote safety in accordance with company policy.Mentor and train Machinist I, II, III.Lead large projects from beginning to completion.Interact with engineers on the design of parts.Advise on corrective actions that need to be taken.Document red lines.Perform R&D work as directed.Other duties as assigned.Full-time attendance is required.Essential SkillsHigh school degree or equivalent with two to three years of experience or AA degree in Machine Technology.Good math skills in trigonometry.Ability to perform lead person responsibilities effectively, productively, professionally, and positively.Ability to machine various plastics and metals to .005 tolerance.Ability to use rotary table and divider head mill vise.Ability to perform tooling designs.Ability to use inspection tooling to measure and verify dimensions.Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings in metric, decimal, and fractional inch units.Ability to read and interpret Bill of Materials.Ability to maintain and inspect tooling.Ability to set up manual machines using appropriate tooling and fixtures.Ability to operate manual mills and lathes.Troubleshooting skills.Ability to set up CNC machines, load programs, tools, fixtures, and set tool offsets.Ability to use and read precision measuring devices in thousandths.Ability to identify various cutting tools and materials utilized.Ability to perform a complex variety of machining skills.Skills in a minimum of one other discipline (cross-trained).Ability to CNC program.Ability to work in a team environment and contribute as a team member.Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.Ability to handle fragile products carefully, perform repetitive tasks, and demonstrate safety awareness.Ability to maintain and inspect functional tooling.Ability to read and understand machine codes.Ability to deburr parts.Must be able to lift and carry products weighing up to 35 pounds.Additional Skills & QualificationsContinued education and training including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, safety, blueprint reading, teamwork.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
