**Job Title: CNC Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Operator to join our team for the 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM) and the 3rd shift (10:30 PM - 6:30 AM). The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret and understand both simple and complex part drawings, use precision measuring tools, and operate CNC machines efficiently.
**Responsibilities**
+ Interpret and understand simple and complex part drawings.
+ Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, scales, protractors, compasses, height gauges, and dial indicators.
+ Utilize machine control codes, computers, part nesting, DNC links, and file transfers to produce parts.
+ Create, prove out, and edit part programs as part of the setup and operation of CNC machines and related equipment.
+ Perform normal operator maintenance as prescribed by equipment builders, including the replacement of consumable materials and parts.
+ Perform multiple activities simultaneously, organize work, and take corrective action in response to error messages and process interruptions.
+ Assist with the training of other machine operators and helpers.
+ Diagnose machine problems and repair machines as needed.
+ Assume a leadership role and take responsibility for overall performance of equipment.
+ Meet production standards by monitoring machine performance, managing uptime, and maintaining quality standards.
+ Use punch dies and pressures in the hydraulic forming of steel and alloys.
+ Perform oxy/fuel flame and plasma cutting, part layout, inspection, hole drilling, tapping, and milling, including understanding speed and feed rates.
+ Read, understand, and follow guidelines set forth by engineering instructions, standard procedures, operating instructions, and blueprints.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in CNC operation
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints
+ Experience with fabrication
+ Skill in using precision measuring tools
+ Knowledge of machine control codes and part nesting
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience working with laser, water jet, and saws on structural steel rods and beams
