**Job Title: CNC Operator**
**Job Description**
CNC Operators will run multiple pieces of equipment on each shift, including CNC saws, drills, CNC angle machines, sheers, brake presses, and coping machines. They will use the same software for all equipment, making it easy to transition between machines based on nightly orders. Flexibility and the ability to learn all equipment are essential.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate multiple CNC machines including saws, drills, angle machines, sheers, brake presses, and coping machines.
+ Gather raw steel beams or plates using a forklift and/or overhead crane as no material handler is provided.
+ Pull products to supply the paint department or other areas with finished products as needed.
+ Assist in various areas of the facility, even if it does not involve operating machinery.
+ Work in the yard moving and offloading large pieces of steel, and be willing to work in outdoor elements.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CNC operations with various pieces of equipment.
+ Ability to read a tape measure and potentially pass a measurement test.
+ Experience with forklift and overhead crane operations.
+ Attention to detail and safety, especially when handling large steel products.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously on the second shift.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Experience in steel fabrication and machine setup.
+ Proficiency with mechanical tools, saw operation, and inspection.
+ Familiarity with various measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
+ Knowledge of hand tools, bandsaws, CNC mills, and lathes.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a steel fabrication shop, operating during the second shift from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, with occasional mandatory overtime on Saturdays. The facility is non-climate controlled, experiencing both hot and cold conditions. Safety is a top priority, requiring steel toe boots and safety glasses. The work environment is loud and heavy industrial, with overhead cranes and welding stations throughout the structure.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00
