EJ has an immediate opening for a CNC Operator on our First shift (Monday Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), salary - $22.60 - $24.60 per hour depending on experience. Location: Phoenix, NY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities: + Produce quality workmanship while machining hatch frames and parts to engineering drawings by setting up, adjusting, and operating machine tools such as milling machines, drill presses, lathes, and punch presses + Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures in order to properly lay out, measure, and mark metal stock in order to properly machine + Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines + Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled + Set and monitor controls (feed and speed) to regulate machining, and enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media (program CNC machines) + Effectively communicate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange information on jobs and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency + Design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs + Mill jobs in order per production board + Meet hatch productivity goals and deadlines set by supervisor. Follow directions with accountability + Maintain, clean, and lubricate machines and tools in order to remove grease and foreign material + Troubleshoot / take corrective action to fix problems + 5-S & Housekeeping within work area + Work safely at all times QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent, and two or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES + Prior Machinist experience or apprentice program required working with aluminum and steel + Proficient operation of milling machines (vertical preferred). CNC background preferred + Must be able to use and read various measuring instruments: tape measure, vernier calipers, micrometers + Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings + Assembly and Fabrication background a plus + Must work well with others / Team player EJ is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
