CNC Operator
**Job Title: Heavy Industrial Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in machine operating, the ability to read measurement tools, and adhere to strict production guidelines. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our products. **Responsibilities** + Operate heavy industrial machinery efficiently and safely. + Read and interpret tape measures, micrometers, and calipers. + Set up products onto machinery following step-by-step instructions. + Measure products to ensure accuracy and notify the manager or maintenance if product tolerance is off. + Conduct minimal deburring of products. + Utilize a hand crane to move material off the production line. + Meet minimal production output requirements. + Complete documentation of errors, measurements, and product completion. + Maintain a clean work area. **Essential Skills** + Heavy industrial machine operating experience. + Ability to read micrometers and calipers. + Ability to read basic blueprints. + Experience in machine operation or CNC operation. + Experience in heavy industrial/steel fabrication/steel cutting. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with CNC machinery. + Ability to work in a loud, dirty, and hot environment during warm months and cold during the winter months. + Must have steel toe boots. **Why Work Here?** Our company was recently acquired by Caterpillar, providing long-term stability and opportunities for upward mobility. The facility is older and divided into two separate buildings. It can be loud, dirty, and hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees will work in specific departments under the supervision of a designated supervisor and team. The facility includes large areas of CNC machinery, welding booths, and racking systems. Efforts are underway to upgrade the facility. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.40 - $27.80 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
