**Job Title: Heavy Industrial Machine Operator** **Job Description** We are looking for a skilled Heavy Industrial Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy industrial machines, the ability to read measurement tools, and the capability to follow detailed instructions. You will be responsible for setting up products onto machinery, ensuring accuracy through measurement, and maintaining a clean work area. This position offers the opportunity for extensive training and career growth. **Responsibilities** + Operate heavy industrial machinery + Read and interpret tape measures, micrometers, and calipers + Set up product onto machinery following step-by-step instructions + Measure product to ensure accuracy + Notify manager or maintenance if product tolerance is off + Conduct minimal deburring of product + Utilize hand crane to move material off the line + Meet minimal production output requirements + Complete documentation of errors, measurements, and product completion + Maintain a clean work area **Essential Skills** + Heavy industrial or steel fabrication experience + Machine operation or CNC operation experience + Ability to read and interpret measurement tools + Ability to read basic blueprints **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to work in a noisy, dirty, and extreme temperature environment + Steel-toe boots are required **Why Work Here?** Our company has recently been acquired by a well-known industry leader, offering long-term stability and opportunities for career advancement. The work environment is older and split between two buildings. It can be loud, dirty, and subject to extreme temperatures. Employees work in specific departments with a supervisor and a set team. The facility includes areas with CNC machinery, weld booths, and racking systems. We are actively working to upgrade our facility. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.40 - $21.40/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
