CNC Operator
**Job Title: CNC Operator** **Job Description** Sets up and operates conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques. **Responsibilities** + Study blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements. + Measure and mark materials for precise machining. + Select and secure appropriate tools for the job. + Set machining controls and monitor machine operation. + Verify workpiece specifications using precise measuring instruments. + Perform trial runs to ensure accurate settings. + Assemble and align parts for final production. + Install and test parts to ensure functionality. + Develop specifications and sketches for new projects. + Resolve any machining issues that arise during production. + Operate NC machines, lathe, mill, and other machining equipment. + Conduct inspections to ensure quality standards. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of CNC operating/machining experience. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers. + Strong understanding of shop mathematics. + Experience with motorized equipment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. + Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages, and ratios). + Comfortable using hand tools. + Experience with motorized equipment. **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401k match, health insurance with 80% employer coverage, and full dental, medical, and vision insurance. Our company specializes in manufacturing industrial air extraction vacuum systems and general line industrial filters, including products for fuel, gas pipeline, hydraulic, and in-line applications. We also focus on heat transfer equipment, which cools machines using water. With recent expansion and growth, we offer a dynamic and evolving workplace. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tonawanda, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
