A day in the lifeOperate a 4 or 5 axis CNC machine with focus on Safety and ProductivityEnsure the machine operates optimally by using your experience plus your eyes and ears on preventing machine damageSet up tool and work offsets as well as modify program parameters on the controllerMaintain tool inventories and proactively recommend replacements promptlyParticipate in the maintenance of the CNCs by communicating with the Equipment Maintenance Team promptlyParticipate in troubleshooting CNC programming challenges as they ariseRecord daily achievements versus targets and perform required QA/QC inspectionsLog and communicate daily performance results and machine observationsProvide training to potential operatorsDocument and share lessons learned and best practices to the rest of the teamWhat We Offer Competitive wages and benefits RRSP MatchingGreat environment where our motto is "Flynn Family Winning Together!"On-going career development programs through our in-house Flynn University and eLearning coursesWhat We Are Seeking 4+ years of machining experience as a primary operator of a multi-axis CNCExperience with panel fabrication CNCs such as an Onsrud (machine brand) or similar large flat bed router systemsStrong knowledge of machine software such as Mastercam or XCAMKnowledge of architectural panel systems (metal and composites) is a big advantage Strong focus on details, precision, and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbove average knowledge in Microsoft Office applicationsComfortable with using hand tools for hand-cutting and other similar shop tasks Experience with operating an overhead crane is an advantagePhysically fit for the work environment including standing for extended periods of timePosition Summary Location: Vancouver, BCEmployment Type: Shop, Hourly, Full-timeJob Functions: CNC Operator - Metal PanelsIndustry: Building Envelope$35 - $40 an hour
