Essential Functions:

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machine settings and tooling requirements Follow work orders and production schedules to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks Document production data, including machine settings, tooling changes, and downtime, in accordance with company protocols needed Monitor the production process adjusting and making modifications as necessary, to meet quality and productivity standards Position and secure workpieces on machines, using holding devices and hoists as needed Remove workpieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as comparators, gauges, calipers, and micrometers Move cutters or material manually or by turning handwheels, or engage automatic feeding mechanisms to mill workpieces to specifications Learn how to change blocks, pushers & spindle liners as necessary Collaborate with colleagues, including machinists and engineers, to optimize machine performance and resolve issues Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area Maintain machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime

Competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent degree required; basic understanding of CNC machine operations is preferred Enrollment and completion of Dixon Level 1 CNC Program Continual completion of assigned classroom training through Dixon University Minimum 1 year experience in a CNC Operation Familiarity with Mazak machines a plus! Ability to follow written instructions and read/interpret blueprint specifications Adhere to follow company standards for using hand tools Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Possess basic math skills Excellent attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills Display mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies quickly Demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time; operate hand, power and measuring tools of all types and able to stand for long periods at a time The Dixon Group is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices and laws.
