Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY: This role is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to ensure precision manufacturing of high -quality components. This role involves setting up machines, selecting appropriate tools and materials, and verifying the accuracy of machine outputs by interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. The CNC Operator Set-up works closely with the production team to meet deadlines while adhering to safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Set-up all Swiss-type CNC machines in-house, utilizing the CNC program, tooling, and gauging assigned to the job. Evaluate overall process for efficiency improvement opportunities and present to management for approval.Perform minor program edits to set-up, as needed, in conjunction with CNC Programmer.Adjust machine settings and perform test runs to ensure proper functionality.Troubleshoot and correct machining problems, obtaining assistance from support staff when needed. Replace assigned tooling as needed, i.e. drills, boring bars, running tools, etc.Ensure that all documentation is in order (part number, revision, etc) and is kept at the workstation. Enters data on production documents regarding quantity produced, hours worked, etc.Maintain thorough operating knowledge of all machinery in the manufacturing area (included but not limited to CNC machines, Keyence, SeeBreez, Comparator, etc.) commonly used by a CNC Machine Operator, Set-Up Operator.Monitor and inspect output to ensure adherence to quality standards, using precision measuring tools as needed.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.Communicate to management any and all machine maintenance deficiencies and or potential safety issues.Document set-up and production activities for record-keeping and process improvement purposes.Train machine operators and set-up operators as requested.Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have thorough knowledge of raw materials, cutting tool geometry, and related feeds and speeds. Must have expert knowledge of precision inspection equipment and methods (micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, etc.).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED, college level machining classes and/or formal CNC training. Requires 8+ years of Swiss-type CNC set-up experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as operating procedures and general instructions, machine manuals, blueprints, engineering drawings, employee handbook, company policies and departmental procedures, etc.
OTHER SKILLS:
Able to effectively deal with and manage multiple priorities.Possess leadership qualities, assertive, confident and able to work with minimum supervision while training, motivating and developing less experienced team members.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to quickly identify and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.Proficient with MS Excel.Consistently maintain a high level of integrity and support of company policies and procedures.Ability to think creatively about problem solving issues.Target Market Salary Range:

The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
