CNC Programming Technician

Hexcel is currently seeking a CNC Programming Technician for our Burlington, WA location. Hexcel Burlington has a great culture, provides a safe working environment and has a committed workforce. Summary pay range:  $29.60 - $37.14 hourly wage rate.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Utilize CAD/CAM software to create basic honeycomb core CNC machining programs, utilizing a variety of inputs such as drawings, sketches, comparative reference tools and verbal and written instructions. Interpret, understand, and communicate using CAD/CAM systems such as DraftSight and CATIA V5.Coordinate and manage basic design projects relating to and in support of CNC machining. Provide 3D and 2D CAD design support for Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Facilities, and Operations.Collaborate with, and liaise between, the Engineering, CNC Operations and Maintenance/Facilities departments to ensure programs and machines are running at optimum performance and efficiency.  Assist with the administration of the Manufacturing Process Change Request system and aid in the procurement of CNC cutting tools in partnership with the materials team.Participate on cross functional teams in projects relating to CNC machining related quality issue resolution. Assist with research into industry innovations and best practices in the spirit of continuous improvement.Operate 3 and 5-axis CNC machines in order to evaluate and validate new and revised CNC programs and perform CNC machine calibration procedures. Assist with CNC related process improvements to ensure lowest cost production, best technology CNC machining processes and attainment of all customer requirements.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of combined/related experience with CAD drafting, CNC programming, Computer Programming, CNC machine operation and/or repair, electrical systems, and/or composite fabrication required.  Associate’s or other Technical Degree and /or relevant coursework in a technical field preferred.Current computer literacy with Microsoft Windows as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.Ability to operate machine tools preferred; such as milling machines, lathes, drill presses etc.  Ability to also read and interpret electrical, fluid power, and/or civil drawings preferred.Ability to operate lifting equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
