Astronics-PECO, located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood, designs, certifies, manufactures, and sells a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications where high quality is a must, such as the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
We are seeking a **Senior level CNC Operator** to meet production demand. In this role you will operate vertical and horizontal milling machines or a Lathe. You will be expected to make quality parts to customer specifications as well as meet customer demands, maintain cost standards and parts per hour expectations. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Train and mentor CNC-Operators in all duties and responsibilities.
+ Perform proficient basic shop math including: +, -, x, and /. Converting fractions to decimals, and decimals to fractions.
+ Study blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Interpret GD & T callouts.
+ Create basic machine fixturing.
+ Perform all set-ups within set-up time without supervision. Including Vise, 3 / 4 Axis, and Tooling.
+ Load programs and follow procedures for revision control.
+ Inspect tooling for damage / wear, select proper tooling, and make reasonable substitutions if tool is not available. Performing measure, touch off, and loads all tooling.
+ Accurately following G / M Code commands making adjustments at the machine.
+ Troubleshoot machining issues.
+ Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.
+ Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, collisions, and out of tolerance features.
+ Verify conformance of finished part to specifications.
+ Operate micrometers, dial and digital calipers, Tesa height gauge, veneer gauges, thread gauges, go/no-go pins and other measuring tools / equipment.
+ Attend Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly
+ Observe safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.
+ Maintain machine equipment by checking / filling / draining / cleaning: coolant, oil, magazines, tool tapers, and other assigned tasks.
+ Empty chip bins, sweeps, cleans work area and equipment.
+ Identify opportunities for improvement by recognizing the 8 wastes – and is dedicated to continuous improvement.
+ Report consistently to work and is on time. Able to work an eight-hour shift and overtime as assigned.
**Desired Knowledge, Skill, abilities, and Experience:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
+ Three years or more of related experience and/or training preferred.
+ Knowledge of G and M Code
+ Ability to obtain a forklift license.
+ Ability to obtain an overhead hoist license.
+ Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
+ Computer skills required.
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
+ Ability to perform basic math computations such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Trigonometry desired.
