Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Setup Machinist to perform setups on CNC Haas Mill Machines. The ideal candidate will be able to operate and read prints, perform manual edits on vertical machines, and monitor machinery for any problems during production runs.
ResponsibilitiesPerform setups on CNC Haas Mill MachinesSet up one machine and move to the nextPerform manual edits on vertical machinesOperate and read printsPosition materials on the machine and turn on the powerMonitor machinery for any problems during production runsMake necessary adjustments to correct any issuesAdjust, sharpen, or replace worn tools or change various types of media/chemicalsApply knowledge of precision measuring instrumentsPerform adjustments through work offsets and tool changes to maintain part quality and print toleranceAdapt to changing work environments and competing demandsAssist in keeping machines program outputs at the optimum levelAssist in minor machining preventive maintenance requirementsMaintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, cutting, and other operationsIdentify and troubleshoot CNC malfunctions, collect data, and draw valid conclusions to correct issuesMaintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions and irregularitiesReport discrepancies and/or problems to designated supervisorEssential SkillsBlueprint readingTroubleshootingCNC Mill Haas setupMachiningQuality checkMachine operatingInspectionMicrometer and calipers usageUnderstanding tolerancesAdditional Skills & QualificationsMust own tools (calipers, measuring tools)Knowledge of reading drawings and tool sheets1 to 2 years of experience (open to those with 6 months of setup experience)Reliability and good attendance recordSelf-motivationAbility to work flexible overtime hoursGood interpersonal skills and ability to work with othersMust stay off the phone during work hoursWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
1st Shift: 6am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (10-hour shifts). If needed, Friday 6am-11:30am. One 30-minute lunch and two 10-minute breaks. Temperature-regulated shop.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, California.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
