This position located in Cromwell, CT is responsible for setting up and working on grinding machines to grind internal and external cylindrical or tapered surfaces of metal pieces. You will be responsible for Grinding external or internal cylindrical tapered surfaces. Remove metal by the application of abrasives which are bonded to form a rotating wheel. Rough and finish flat, cylindrical, and conical surfaces. Read and interpret charts, drawings, and blueprints. Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground. Complete all labor tracking requirements scan work orders to track labor and part quantities Collect and assemble required products. Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used. A High School diploma or GED is required. At least 5 years of Metal Grinding experience. Ability to read and write English. Advanced math skills. Must be able to physically lift 35 lbs. Hourly rate is between $28/hr - $30/hr.
