This position is designed for individuals with experience in CNC machining who are ready to apply their skills in CAM programming and advanced machining processes. The schedule for this position will be Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm. A Day In The Life + Manufacturing site leader in CAM programming and CNC Technology. + Act as a mentor to entry-level machinists, sharing knowledge and best practices in CNC machining. + Independently program simple 2D and 2.5D parts using CAM software such as Fusion 360, Mastercam, Solidworks CAM, and SolidCAM. + Set up complex machining jobs, including multi-axis setups with fixtures and jigs. + Troubleshoot and resolve machining errors, including issues related to chatter, tool wear, or incorrect dimensions. + Design tooling and fixtures to improve machining efficiency. + Optimize CNC programs for increased efficiency and reduced cycle times. + Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to enhance machining processes and outcomes. + Collaborate with engineering to create and refine part designs for manufacturability. What will help you thrive in this role? + Proficient understanding of advanced G-code functions, including canned cycles and tool radius compensation. + Skilled in using CAM software to create detailed and accurate tool paths for various machining operations (e.g., 3D surfacing, high speed milling, multi-axis machining, swiss). + Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). + Experience with setting up and operating different types of CNC machines, including both mills and lathes. + Understand material properties and select appropriate tooling (e.g., for aluminum, steel, titanium). Qualifications: + 2-4 years of experience in CAM programming and CNC machining with a proven track record of success in previous roles. + Technical certification or degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field is preferred. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
