Job Title: Water Jet Operator
Job Description

The Machine Operator Float Operator is responsible for working on multiple machines in our shop. This position requires experience operating a press brake and various other metal fabrication equipment for cutting, punching, etc. It also requires experience operating and programming a CNC waterjet, with laser and plasma operator experience being applicable. A successful candidate must have solid math and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, expertise in machine operation and tooling, and familiarity with various metals and their characteristics. CNC programming is an essential skill for this role.

ResponsibilitiesComply with all safety requirements.Frequently communicate with supervisor, engineering, and any other affected personnel/departments regarding quality and production issues.Use blueprints, specifications, and precise measurements and calculations to accurately and efficiently produce metal and plastic parts.Load and unload work pieces, either manually or using lift equipment.Move cut material into appropriate storage areas.Generally observe in-process cutting of material to ensure quality.Complete quality inspections of parts, including using measuring equipment, such as micrometers and calipers.Provide complete, accurate, and legible documentation of fabricated parts, and of any activities related to their production.Essential SkillsExperience in operating and programming a CNC waterjet.Experience operating a press brake and other metal fabrication equipment.Strong math and problem-solving skills.Attention to detail and expertise in machine operation and tooling.Familiarity with various metals and their characteristics.Ability to work with limited supervision in a clean and organized manner.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with blueprints.Direct Water Jet machine setup and programming.Precision measuring skills using micrometers and calipers.Setup and program on other machinery, such as plasma or burn table.CNC press brake experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The facility is not climate-controlled, being hot in the summer and cool in the winter, with fans and heaters running depending on the season. The team is currently short-staffed, leading to a high-paced environment with frequent overtime. Steel-toed boots are required. While the current workload may cause a less welcoming atmosphere, this is not reflective of the typical workplace culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00
